The Château de Fontainebleau is putting the spotlight on families during the All Saints' Day vacation 2024. From October 19 to November 3, take a trip to this castle steeped in history, where children can enjoy a wide range of activities and delightful outings!

We loveautumn so much because the trees are decked out in magnificent colors, transforming parks and gardens into fairytale worlds. That's why we run to the Château de Fontainebleau to enjoy this majestic historic monument and its 130 hectares of gardens... But also its special activities for the season! The château invites us to take part in family activities during the All Saints' vacation, from October 19 to November 3, 2024.

Located some 60 kilometers from Paris, the monument is sure to delight families in search of enriching outings during the autumn vacations. For a day, young and old alike can enjoy fun activities in this sumptuous setting.

Like every year, this royal residence in the Seine-et-Marne region of France organizes a variety of events and workshops for the whole family, to enchant us during the All Saints' Day vacations. Let's discover the program for this 2023 edition. Please note that some activities may require prior booking.

Guided family tours: Castle investigation, season 3

Take advantage of the vacations to discover the new season of château investigations! From Saturday, October 23 to Sunday, November 7 inclusive, at 10:30 and 14:30 (except Tuesdays). This new season of Enquête au château is full of surprises and new adventures! Young and old alike are invited to take part in the adventure: a journey to the heart of history, combining intrigue, mystery and twists and turns!

  • 5 € supplement for under-26s and €7 for over-26s, recommended for children aged 7 to 12 accompanied by an adult.

Hunt for kings" family tour

A box containing a strange deck of cards has been found in a castle cupboard. With maps of the castle in hand, young and old alike are invited to take part in a veritable "hunt for kings". Which kings or queens are hiding in the castle's rooms? It's up to you to solve the mystery!

  • 5 € supplement for under-26s and €7 for over-26s, recommended for children aged 7 to 12 accompanied by an adult.

D'Artagnan" family tour

Immerse yourself in history at the time of King Louis XIV and d'Artagnan, foil the plots at his Court and the machinations of Fouquet, and wander the castle to the sound of the most famous Musketeer's boots. Join the Cadets de la Garde, follow the courtier and the Mousquetaire through the halls, and learn about life at court: bowing and curtsying.

Visit Rosa Bonheur and the Napoleon III smoking room

Admire the works of Rosa Bonheur at the Château de Fontainebleau, the first museum dedicated to the artist, and (re)discover the Napoleon III smoking room, an intimate space emblematic of court life during the Second Empire.

The little train

Discover the château's beautiful gardens on board the little train.
Every day, from 12pm, until November 1st

Horse-drawn carriage ride

Embark on a guided tour of the Grand Parterre and the park.
Every day except Tuesday, afternoons

Costume rental
Les Arlequins offers a unique experience as you discover the castle in period costume.
From October 22 to November 5. Every day except Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last rental at 4:15 p.m.).

Le jeu de Paume

The Château de Fontainebleau is home to one of the few remaining paume games in France. Before introducing young and old to this sport steeped in history, the master paume player explains its origins, rules and craftsmanship.
