Paris metro line 3, inaugurated in 1904, crosses the Parisian right bank from east to west, linking two other communes in the inner suburbs: Bagnolet in Seine-Saint-Denis (93) and Levallois-Perret in Hauts-de-Seine (92). Over a distance of more than 11.6km, it serves the Haussmann district and its department stores in the 9th arrondissement, the residential areas of the 17th arrondissement, Gare Saint-Lazare, the famous Père Lachaise cemetery in the 20th arrondissement and the République district at the crossroads of the 3rd and 11th arrondissements.
It provides easy access to many of the capital's cultural sites and monuments, including theOpéra Garnier (from Opéra station), the Palais Brongniart (from Bourse station), and theArc de Triomphe (from Wagram). But that's not all: this 25-station line connects to ten other Paris metro lines ( 2, 3bis, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 13), as well as RER lines A, C and E.
