The Cité des Taillandiers, scheduled for renovation in 2021, is a jewel located at 5-7 rue des Taillandiers. Thanks to the commitment ofFrançois Vauglin, mayor of the 11th arrondissement, to the preservation of heritage and historic craft activities, this place has been restored to its former splendor. The restoration has created a true center of excellence where some twenty craftsmen, artists, designers and visual artists can express their talents.
Imagine walking through the alleys of this city, discovering the secrets of rare trades and admiring the works of carefully selected artisans. The Cité des Taillandiers has become a landmark of Parisian arts and crafts, ranking alongside such emblematic sites as the Cour de l'Industrie at 37, bis rue de Montreuil.
During the Journées du Patrimoine on Saturday, September 16, 2023, starting at 11 a.m., here's what you're invited to discover:
Don't miss the chasing workshop ofAgnès Sevestre, master craftswoman in arts and crafts, at 11 am. Chasing, a technique for decorating metal, is an endangered art in France, practiced by just 150 craftsmen. With her delicate, poetic creations, Agnès brings this heritage to life. Demonstrations are scheduled throughout the day, as well as an exhibition and sale at the workshop.
Aucun événement annoncé à ce jour, le programme est mis à jour en fonction des annonces officielles.
So, if you're looking for an outing that's both instructive and entertaining, where you can discover rare crafts and original creations, head for the Cité des Taillandiers. It's an original and well worth the detour.
