The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) are held every year in September in Paris and the Île-de-France region. Over the course of an exceptional weekend, the most important sites andthe most secret nuggets of the Paris region offer us a fine program of events, often free of charge, to the delight of enthusiasts and the curious alike.
Museums, castles, churches, libraries, embassies, ministries, hospitals and even fashion houses are all part of the Heritage Days program. Every year, the program is so extensive that there's something for everyone. There's something for young and old to enjoy at this not-to-be-missed event! The next event is scheduled for the weekend of September 21 and 22, 2024, in Paris and the Ile-de-France region.
If you're in the Seine-et-Marne region and would like to discover the nuggets waiting for you in the heart of this verdant département, we suggest a stopover in Coulommiers, a commune located right in the middle of the region. Heritage Days at the Sainte-Marguerite chapel in Coulommiers
Built in 1220 by Thomas de Vaux, this chapel is dedicated to Sainte-Marguerite. Rarely open to the public, it houses a unique collection of wood panelling from the Château de Coulommiers.
Heritage Days at the Commanderie des Templiers in Coulommiers
On this occasion, the Friends of the Musée du Papier will be delighted to welcome you to the Commanderie for these two days.
The theme of this event will be medieval music. Les Derniers Trouvères" will be performing over the two days. This nationally-renowned group will have you dancing and singing along to melodies of their own composition. Come and experience this very special and enchanting moment.
Also on hand for demonstrations: the armed Templar Company of the Commanderie de Villedieu, the Horde des Monde Oubliés, the Hospitaller camp of Noël VERNOIS, a Vicking stall, the Croque Boudin family farm, the Chasse Médiévale, the Auberge de Montmirail, the Crépière Mamicette. You'll also find the "Schola Judicaël", with many other surprises.
La Grange aux Dîmes will also be home to a host of craftspeople offering their various products and services (hypocras, liqueurs, sausages, beehive products, leather, Brie beer, wood crafts, macramé, stones and jewelry, children's book publisher, face painting, storytelling, etc.).
Come and visit the Chapelle Sainte-Anne of the Commanderie des Templiers and discover the mysteries of its décor.

Heritage Days at Saint-Denys Sainte-Foy church in Coulommiers
Built between 1905 and 1910, this church stands on the site of the town's former cemetery. Inside, you can admire various elements from the Saint-Denys church destroyed in 1968, including the famous medieval stained-glass windows and the tomb of Thibault de Pontmoulin.
Heritage Days at Coulommiers Town Hall
Built on the remains of Coulommiers' former feudal castle in the 19th century, the Hôtel de Ville de Coulommiers opens its doors to the public. This important building in the life of the community is also home to works of art that evoke the Republic, heritage and reflect contemporary creation.

Guided tours of the exhibition by musicologist Miguel Baptista, from 2 pm to 5 pm, with tours departing every hour.

Heritage Days at the municipal theater in Coulommiers
Built in 1904, the Théâtre Municipal is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year! This place of entertainment and art is also a work of architecture listed as a Historic Monument. Push open the doors of this building to discover its history, its décor, and even its backstage area.
