In Seine-et-Marne, the Château de Bourron, located in Bourron-Marlotte, is taking part in this new edition. Classified as a Historic Monument, this 12th-century building is now a hotel where visitors can enjoy the life of a château for the duration of their stay. During the Heritage Days weekend, Château de Bourron invites you to explore its history! Click here for the program!
The walled park of Château de Bourron extends over 40 hectares of lawns and woods, as an extension of the Fontainebleau forest. It reveals a few surprises: hidden behind the little house, the romantic Neolithic spring known as Source Saint-Sévère, which gives rise to the canal; the statue of Ceres that closes off the northern parterre, that of Saint Joseph by Fernand Py beneath the trees and the Maison d'Artagnan. But the major axis of this French-style park remains the grand perspective, led to the south by the canal and the lime-tree avenues that give the Château de Bourron all its grandeur. Listed in the supplementary inventory in 1926 and classified as a historic monument since 1971.
