The Journées du Patrimoine 2024 take place on September 21 and 22! And this year, the Centre Culturel Irlandais awaits you with guided tours of the Chapelle Saint-Patrick and its heritage library, as well as concerts!

Located just a stone's throw from the Panthéon, the Centre culturel irlandais is at the heart of the Irish cultural life in Paris, housed in the historic Collège des Irlandais. Opened in Paris in 1578, the Collège soon became home to Irish priests and students who fled their country after the Anglican schism.

As part of the Journées du Patrimoine 2024, the Centre culturel irlandais is opening its doors to the curious on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22. A great opportunity to discover this unique place in Paris, with its U-shaped architecture and large, shady courtyard surrounded by chestnut trees.

  • Self-guided tour of the Joseph Walsh and Sara Flynn exhibition
    September 21 and 22

The Centre Culturel Irlandais is delighted to present new works by renowned designer and craftsman Joseph Walsh, in collaboration with ceramic artist Sara Flynn. The dialogue between these exceptional artists, both from rural County Cork, dates back over fifteen years, and has crystallized around their shared passion for material and form. At the CCI, twelve wall sculptures from the Enignum series support as many porcelain vases in an airy interweaving, while a set of vessels is delicately spread across the ash surface of a dining table. Working with a wide variety of materials since 2012 - including wood, stone, glass and resin - the self-taught designer is constantly pushing the boundaries of form and quality. Internationally acclaimed, his indomitable arabesque furniture is already featured in major public collections (Centre Pompidou, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, etc.). A world reference in contemporary ceramics, Sara Flynn also expresses her love of textures, lines and volumes through elegant, controlled curves. This perfect marriage of organic sculpture and poetic ceramics is revealed here in its full context. The result is an ensemble of infinite lightness...
