Since 2015, RER A users have been dreading the summer period… We must say that for four years now, the famous RER A – used by 325 million travelers every year – undergoes essential works every summer, disturbing the traffic for four weeks straight. The aim of these works? Renewing the rails and the ballast in Paris.
This time, works and perturbations are mostly set on the western part of the line for 9 weeks. Therefore, between Auber and Nanterre - Université • Cergy • Poissy, the traffic will be stoped on evenings from 9 a.m. and all weekend long (24h/a day) from June 26 to August 29, 2021 included.
But careful though, between the Auber and La Défense stations as well as on the Poissy branch, traffic is stopped every day from August 9 to 13 and from August 16 to 20, 2021 included. As a replacement, the SNCF provides bus, transilien train and tramway.
