Coronavirus: Paris National Opera cancels performances and suspends visits

Following the coronavirus pandemic and public gatherings over 100 people being forbidden, Paris National Opera has just announced to cancel several shows and suspend visits.

With the coronavirus pandemic spreading in France, Prime minister Edouard Philippe has announced on Friday March 13, that public gatherings over 100 people are banned.

Since March 13, many show and concert venues, clubs and museums shut down.

Paris National Opera has also announced a few measures. "As part of the measures aimed at limiting the propagation of the virus, the Opéra de Paris has to suspend visits of the Opéra Bastille and the Palais Garnier", Paris National Opera has tweeted earlier.

Moreover, Paris National Opera has to cancell performances for the following shows:

  • George Balanchine, from March 12th to April 1st
  • Manon, from March 13th to April 10th
  • Monteverdi, Rossi, Haendel concert on March 18th
  • Don Giovanni, from March 12th to April 24th
  • Dance School Show, from March 25th to 30th
  • Tours of the Opéra Bastille and the Palais Garnier
