It is in Paris 10th arrondissement, that contemporary artist JR has chosen to show this incredible black and white mural that its 40m long and several meters high. For the record, street-artist JR is famous for his many gigantic collages in black and white. We remember the one he displayed in March 2019 on the Louvre pyramid.

On this new collage, made in partnership with students from the Kourtrajmé movie school created by movie maker Ladj Ly, JR has chosen to display two huge eyes separated by a crack. “The mural is here to pay tribute to Adama and George Floyd” Les Misérables director Ladj Ly said in a press conference held on June 9. “This mural echoes the walk on June 2, the face of George Floyd, the face of Adama Traoré” Adama’s sister Assa Traoré said, as she was here for the reveal.

The committee supporting Adama Traoré’s family, behind the protest that gathered between 20,000 and 80,000 people this past June 2, in front of Paris court, calls for a new gathering this Saturday June 13 in Paris.

Tweets read: “Adama Traoré’s family reminds that they are expected judiciary progress, and not invitations to talk, that will have no procedural end.
This is why, the Comité Adama calls for a massive national gathering this Saturday starting from the Place de la République at 2:30 p.m.
The press conference will take place tomorrow June 9 at noon, 49bis rue Louis Blanc, 75010 Paris
”.

For curious people, this new collage by JR is to be discovered in Paris 10th arrondissement on rue Philippe de Girard by the Place Jan Karski.

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
