This is now official: Jean Castex is named Prime Minister. A few hours after Edouard Philippe’s resignation, the Elysée has announced this Friday July 3 “mister deconfinement” is named Prime Minister and has to form a new cabinet.
To complete successfully the different missions of the government, the executive names Nicolas Revel leader of the Prime Minister’s cabinet. The current director of the Health Insurance was one of the shadow artisans of Emmanuel Macron’s 2017 victory.
A cabinet reshuffle expected for weeks and that will enable the Head of State to complete successfully the “new path” he wishes to take for the last two years of his mandate at the head of the country. But then, who is Jean Castex, the new civil servant who has the heavy task to succeed Edouard Philippe?
