This is quite a special night that this taxi driver experienced in the night of Saturday October 17, 2020 when he picked up in Paris a young male dressed in a sheet who asked him to drive him home, naming the Palace of Versailles in the middle of curfew.
After dropping his funny customer in front of the historical building around 10:30 p.m., the taxi driver ultimately called the police to report the man who intended to get in the palace. Upon their arrival, the forces of order noticed a French door window was broken. They found the 31-year-old man who was “dressed in a sheet and claiming he was a king”, one of the police officers sent on site said.
Arrested by the police, the man is said to have climbed up the bailey before getting into the palace. “He has been arrested after breaking a window by an entrance door opening onto the low gallery”, but luckily, the Palace of Versailles spokesperson told the AFP no property damage in the furniture or collection was to lament.
