Emmanuel Macron gathered a mini-summit for the fight against terrorism in a video-conference to actively respond to the wave of terror attacks that hit France, Austria and Germany. The French President has been rather firm on the Schengen area and the “security breaches” of each State.
During a press brief, Emmanuel Macron estimated that “Every security gap at our external borders or within a member state poses a risk for all member states.” He calls the member states to get a joint database to report terror offenders or radicalized citizens, Fiche S alerts in France. This joint database is expected to better coordinate actions of the European countries.

And because the fight against terrorism also includes the fight against terrorist propaganda on the Internet, Emmanuel Macron requires a “regulation of extracting terrorist content within one hour”.
Besides, the French president called for a reformation of the Schengen area to “beef up our common border security”. He condemned a poor managing of the external borders, necessary to enable free circulation within the Schengen area. Emmanuel Macron also thought up about sanctions for the member states that would not comply with their commitments.
