As the winter break has started for Zone A, ministry of the interior spokeswoman Camille Chaize said on February 7 on Europe 1 there will be “no special treatment” for vacation departures. Therefore, vacationers who will drive to destination must comply with curfew instated and make it before 6 p.m.

This February 7, 2021 invited on Europe 1, ministry of the interior spokeswoman Camille Chaize reminded a few rules about curfew, adding there will be “no special treatment” for vacationers hitting the road. “The thing is that they have to make it for 6 p.m. whether they have reached their vacation destinations or their homes” she explained, before adding “it requires a little bit different organization, take precautions, especially if there is a long journey”.

For the record, curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. does not apply to travelers traveling by train or plane. Their tickets work as a certificate.

But what to do in the event of traffic jam? Is a fine likely? “Once again, there is no special treatment” she said before adding “you shall check the road before going to make sure you can make it for 6 p.m.

And bad news since the bill is likely to grow steep depending on how many passengers there are in the car. “135 euros will be fined to each person breaking the health rulesChaize explained on LCI. “For instance, if there are four of you in the same car, it will be four times 135 euros” she added.

During the latest press briefing hosted by Jean Castex, Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin also announced road and airport checks to be strengthened during the vacation.
