This March 4, 2021, Jean Castex held a press brief. The Prime Minister made several announcements such as weekend lockdown extended to Pas-de-Calais. Three more departments are placed “under surveillance” naming Hautes Alpes, Aisne and Aube.
But the chief of the executive made more announcements as for some highly visited places. “Prefects are also invited – in tandem with mayors involved of course – to ban or regulate the access to some highly visited places at weekends, where there are mass gatherings too often free of masks and distancing”, Castex stated.

Jean Castex was invited this Wednesday July 21, 2021 on TF1 news broadcast to present the latest governmental measures and decisions applying to the health crisis, especially because of the dramatic outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic. The Prime Minister has confirmed the government's strategy, namely vaccinating and health pass, considering the country entered the 4th wave. Some places by the Garonne have been closed to the public since Sunday February 28, for instance. A decision made by the Haute-Garonne prefecture after the authorities noticed “many standing gatherings not complying with social distancing nor mask-wearing” in some areas in Toulouse. The restriction is instated “until Monday March 8, 2021 at midnight”.
In Paris, the Seine riverbanks and around are aimed at by the government.
