19 departments have to comply with a 10-km limit around their home for their daily outings, along with other restrictions, since Saturday March 20, and it looks rather like a "lockdown". And from now on, the entire mainland France has to comply with the same rules.
As a matter of fact, Emmanuel Macron has just announced - during his televised address on March 31, 2021 - that the entire mainland France - and no longer the sole hardest-hit departments - will be placed in a new nationwide lockdown to curb the third Covid-19 pandemic wave, starting April 3 and until May 2, 2021.
"Rules instated in the 19 departments in reinforced vigilance will be extended to the entire mainland territory, starting this Saturday night and for four weeks", the Head of State stated.
Among the now generalized measures, curfew from 7 p.m. in all departments, the closure of non-necessary stores everywhere in France, daytime trips beyong the 10-km radius are banned, excluding pressing matter, inter-regional trips are banned starting April 5, for 4 weeks, excluding pressing matter, and working from home is the rule as long as it is possible.
