In compliance with the government's lockdown exit plan, curfew is to be moved twice in May and June, before being fully lifted at the beginning of summer. French are allowed to be out until late as curfew is moved to 11 p.m. since Wednesday June 9. But this Wednesday June 16, 2021 Prime Minister Jean Castex announced curfew ultimately comes to a close this Sunday June 20 everywhere in France, and the obligation of wearing a mask outside is no longer valid starting this Thursday June 17 given the good results of the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.

Early lockdown exit in France! According to the 4-step lockdown exit scheme revealed in the press, curfew was to be postponed twice before being fully lifted at the beginning of the summer 2021, starting from June 30, as the vaccination campaign goes on. Same thing for compulsory outdoor facemask-wearing, still active and likely to come to a close in early July.

Excellent news for the French: curfew from 11 p.m. - initially expected to end on June 30 - is to end on Sunday June 20! As for outdoor facemask-wearing, same good news: starting from this Thursday June 17, 2021, you can be out and about without your mask on anywhere in France! But there are exceptions, obviously. It is Prime Minister Jean Castex who confirmed both highly-awaited news, at the end of the Ministerial Council this Wednesday June 16, 2021.
