Will the government opt for a “territorialized” lockdown exit? So far, the question remains unanswered, but the Health Minister is for lifting restrictions and curbing measures “territory by territory”.
“I’m open to the idea of a territory by territory approach in the lifting of curbing measures, as I was for it when they were instated”, Véran told Télégramme this April 19, 2021. “When considering lifting some restrictions, we need to look at the epidemic situation in each territory, the hospital situation and the overall level of saturation in hospitals in France”, he added.

But “the epidemic has initiated decline for five days”, the minister told Télégramme as well, before admitting contaminations remain high. “The epidemic is still on a very high level and decline is not quick or sharp enough. We need to keep making efforts”.
Still in this interview with Télégramme, the Health Minister said that “to date”, the calendar remains the same. “Schools reopen from April 26 in presential; junior high and high schools reopen on May 3 in presential; we’ll then consider easing a certain number of measures from mid-May” in added in the Breton daily.
