It's raining and you don't have an umbrella? Did you know that RATP can lend you one? To protect yourself on rainy days, all you have to do is ask at the reception desk of one of the participating stations and pay a deposit, which will be returned to you when you return the umbrella.

IF you're tired of getting soaked when leaving the metro, think of the umbrellas from RATP. In September 2021, the Parisian transport authority is offering an umbrella lending service, available at the exits of many Paris metro stations. And it's free! The process is simple: go to the reception desk of one of the participating stations, pay a deposit of 7 euros, then collect your precious rain cover. To get your 7 euros back, all you have to do is bring it back (intact!) afterwards.

In which metro stations is the umbrella loan service now available? Find out which stations are available on the 340 stations of 16 metro and RER lines:

How does it work? Nothing complex, we assure you. First, go to the reception desk at one of the many participating stations. Then pay for the deposit in cash or by credit card, and get the famous umbrella and a flyer. The flyer specifies that the deposit will not be refunded if the umbrella is lost or damaged. To get your money back, simply return the umbrella to one of the participating stations, and that's it. So now there's no excuse: protect yourself from the elements on rainy days in Paris!
