"Be careful, don't put your hands on the doors, you risk getting pinched really hard!", this is a sentence you must have read countless times during your journeys on the metro, bus or RER in Paris. It's Serge the Rabbit, RATP's mascot, who has been giving us safety advice for over forty years. On Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 May 2023, children will have the opportunity to meet him for real in the corridors of the metro!
Something to liven up your trip and put a smile on your face! Station agents will also be present to show you their job!
Serge the Rabbit was born in 1977, imagined by the designer Anne Le Lagadec. Today he wears an orange T-shirt and blue pants, but this was not always the case because Serge came into the world wearing orange overalls. The stickers affixed in the metro and other public transport in Paris are intended to prevent the risk of finger pinching and other inconveniences. They can be found on nearly 24,000 doors of the metro and RER, but also on 115 escalators, which can also be dangerous.
