According to a study conducted by website Savoo, Paris is Europe’s most pet-friendly city thanks to pet-friendly restaurants, lots of veterinarians, parks and groomers in the city.

A study – conducted by website Savoo – considers the French capital is the best to travel or live with one’s pet, cat or dog! Paris is even said to be Europe’s most pet-friendly city, especially thanks to the number of veterinarians, parks and restaurants that are pet-friendly. As a matter of fact, there are 291 places adapted to dogs, 213 veterinarians, 287 parks, 145 groomers and even 57 training courses!

There are even 2 daycares for cats and dogs in Paris. Only Vienna counts more of them. Berlin comes second in the ranking, thanks to its number of pet-friendly rentals, with 24.81% against only 8.33% in Paris. The study also says the total cost of owning a pet in your life reaches an average €20,630 for a dog – the most expensive being bulldogs – and €26,675 for a cat (and more for the Savannah breed). It can be explained by the health of these races, more fragile.

Since the beginning of the pandemic and lockdowns in Europe, the number of pet-owners has been dramatically increasing. Yet, abandoning actions are more and more common, especially after Christmas or during the summer holidays. The society for the prevention of cruelty to animals regularly reminds that adopting a pet comes with responsibility, and must be a well-thought decision. Furthermore, in France, it will be necessary now to own a commitment certificate to bring your pet home.
