Good news for the beautiful days: the 1200 fountains of Paris are now locatable in the Google Maps application. An ecological and economical progress!

While spring is timidly showing its nose and many Parisians are afraid of a new heat wave this summer, here's a good news for those who love long walks in the streets of Paris: the 1200 fountains of Paris can now be located on Google Maps. Eau de Paris, the capital's water company, made the announcement on Twitter.

To do this, Eau de Paris has sent the GPS coordinates of the city's fountains to Google so that they can be integrated into the Google Maps application and thus "make drinking water increasingly accessible in public spaces. During your walk in Paris, you just have to type'fountain' in the application to see on the map the drinking water fountains located around you.

A step forward for the planet, according to Eau de Paris, which wishes to encourage Parisians but also tourists to reduce the use of plastic bottles and instead turn to the use of water bottles to be filled as soon as the need is felt. And don't forget that thewater in Paris' fountains is free, which is also a good way to save a few pennies here and there.

To stay hydrated, Parisians and tourists can also count on the 800 businesses participating in the "Ici, je choisis l'eau de Paris" network, notified at the entrance of member cafés and restaurants by a blue sticker on their front, and which allow to fill a water bottle for free to anyone who asks for it, without any obligation to drink.
