Many streets, parks or gardens are renamed over the years by the city of Paris, to pay tribute to the work of artists or beloved French personalities. This week, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, announced that a part of the Jardins des Champs-Elysées would soon take the name of theactress Line Renaud, which has moved her a lot, who will certainly be present at the inauguration scheduled for this summer 2023.
On social networks, Line Renaud expressed her gratitude and evoked her memories with the garden of the 8th arrondissement, where she often walked."This place is very moving for me because I played Très Chère Mathilde, during a season at the Marigny theater, and on Saturdays, between the two performances, I would go for a walk in these gardens," she explained.
This woman with a long career and diverse artistic activities, is one of the few personalities to benefit from this honor during her lifetime, at 94 years old.
I have the immense pleasure to learn that the city hall of @Paris gives my name to a part of the Gardens of the Champs-Elysées. This honor, which I did not expect, overwhelms me. 1/3 https://t.co/zsGDHlrcvE
