In order to prevent potential damage to street furniture and means of transport during the evenings of July 13 and 14, 2023, the French government has taken a preventive measure. In the wake of the urban riots that shook the country, the authorities have decided to anticipate any further outbreak of violence by restricting access to buses and streetcars on these two evenings. This decision was announced by the Minister of the Interior, with the aim of protecting these means of transport from possible attacks and fires. Bus and streetcar services will stop earlier, at 10pm.
This measure, which will be applied in all major urban areas, is very similar to that implemented during previous riots. However, metro and RER trains will continue to run normally, without interruption. Ile-de-France is one of the areas affected.
⚠ In consultation with @prefpolice, streetcars and buses in Ile-de-France will be stopped no later than 10:00 pm on July 13 and 14.

No change for RER, trains & metros
This measure is intended to ensure the safety of agents and passengers.
Thank you for your understanding
The main aim of this decision is to guarantee maximum safety for citizens wishing to enjoy the July 14 festivities. To achieve this, no fewer than 130,000 law enforcement officers will be mobilized across the country, with a reinforced presence of 10,000 officers in Paris. The French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, has expressed his determination to take a very firm stance against delinquents, with systematic arrest orders for any attempt to disrupt these nights of national festivity.
Last year, during the national celebrations, 749 vehicles were burnt, which justifies the implementation of additional precautionary measures this year.
To avoid any inconvenience, and to make it easier for users to find alternative solutions, here is a list of public transport available during the evenings of July 13 and 14:
We therefore recommend that you take these changes into account, so that you can plan your journeys as effectively as possible, and find out about public transport timetables so that you can make alternative arrangements if necessary.
In summary, to ensure public safety and prevent any damage to public transport during the evenings of July 13 and 14, buses and streetcars will stop earlier at 10pm in all major urban areas. Subway trains and RERs will continue to operate normally. The authorities are implementing these preventive measures to enable everyone to enjoy the national festivities without suffering the inconvenience caused by a minority of delinquents.
