Paris is the French city that generates the most rail traffic, with its many famous stations, more or less appreciated by SNCF and RATP users. Whether we use them daily or just for vacations, we all have an anecdote to tell about Parisian stations. While most of them are very pretty, thanks to their historic architecture, they're not all that pleasant, with delays, repairs and lack of safety. Discover the region's worst station, and one of the worst in France, according to a user satisfaction barometer!
In France, Toulouse's Matabiau station is particularly hated by passengers. But the Gare d'Austerlitz comes in a close second! The reason? This station, one of the largest in the country, has been undergoing long-term renovation for almost 10 years, making it not only uglier, but also much less convenient to use. According to the criteria used, waiting comfort, the lack of shops and services and the architecture make the 13th arrondissement station a place to be avoided.
And we'll have to wait a few more years to see it rise to a good position, since construction work will continue until 2027, even though the Grande Halle Voyageurs will be completed this year. You'll finally be able to bid farewell to the3,000-tonne scaffolding and admire the newly renovated glass roof. In the meantime, users will have plenty to complain about, as RATP has also announced the closure of the metro station on line 5 until April 2024!
