As the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup gets underway this Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Stade de France, 33 high-profile guests are expected on the legendary pitch, including singers. This first match can be followed in several dedicated fan zones, such as the Village Rugby Concorde, where several artists are expected to kick off the festivities with music.

At the Stade de France, the match will be preceded by an opening ceremony imagined by actor Jean Dujardin, in collaboration with show designer Olivier Ferracci and director Nora Matthey from l'Endroit.

While 200 volunteer extras are expected at the Stade de France for the occasion, 33 prestigious guests have also been announced, including director and actor Philippe Lacheau, prima ballerina Alice Renavand, pastry chef Pierre Hermé, chef Guy Savoy and Adriana Karembeu. " 33 renowned guests will represent France's gastronomic, sporting and artistic expertise," said World Rugby a few weeks ago regarding the opening ceremony.

On the music front, Zaz and Vianney are set to perform at the opening ceremony on Friday evening, just before kick-off. This is according to several media reports, including TF1 and Ouest-France. In a report broadcast on TF1, they can be seen rehearsing.
