Two concerts to celebrate the launch of the Rugby World Cup 2023 and the opening of the Village Rugby Concorde in Paris! In a press release published on August 30, the City of Paris announced that the famous Parisian sports village dedicated to the oval ball and set up on the mythical Place de la Capitale will welcome singer-songwriter and musician Hervé as well as French electro duo Breakbot & Irfane for a launch of the festivities placed under the sign of sport and music.
The event, not to be missed on Friday, September 8, 2023, will take over the sublime Place de la Concorde, and more specifically the Rugby Village , a free venue open to all for the duration of the Rugby World Cup, from September 8 to October 28.
Starting at 5pm on September 8, the public will be able to get behind the decks with the famous duo of artists signed to the EdBanger label, namely Breakbot & Irfane. A chance to warm up and dance to some of their legendary mixes, including " Baby i'm yours ".
At 7 p.m., the stage changes with a concert by singer Hervé, named Best Male Newcomer at the 2021 Victoires de la Musique awards.
To enhance the opening evening, these two shows will be interspersed with a demonstration by the gymnastics group of the Paris Fire Brigade, and a Haka demonstration by the Maori group Te Matatini.
" One year before the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Paris is already vibrating to the rhythm of sport with the opening of its "Village Rugby Concorde"! On the emblematic Place de la Concorde, which will host several events during the Summer Games, the Rugby World Cup is settling in to a festive and convivial atmosphere. Between the broadcasting of matches on giant screens and the many events and demonstrations combining art and sport, there will be something for all ages. Come one and all to the concerts by the duo "Breakbot & Irfane" and singer Hervé to open the festivities with music and support the XV de France! " declared Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, in a press release.
The Village Rugby Concorde will be an opportunity for fans of the oval ball to vibrate to the rhythm of the Rugby World Cup, thanks to the retransmission of the biggest matches on giant screens, as well as meetings with emblematic former players of the XV de France, not to mention performances by artists and DJs, and strolls by Batucada Batala Paris.
