With over 130 kilometers of walking, the GR Pays de la Seine Impressionniste starts in Chatou, in the Yvelines department, and leads to Giverny in the Eure department. And although it took more than ten years for this new long-distance footpath to see the light of day (according to France 3 régions), it's now a beautiful circuit to be enjoyed in its entirety or in sections, for beautiful strolls in the Île-de-France region.
Discover theÎle des Impressionnistes in Chatou, the magnificent troglodyte village of La Roche-Guyon in the Val-d'Oise, the small village of Vétheuil or the hamlet of Giverny, made famous by Monet's water lily house and ponds, which can be visited all year round.
The GR de Pays de la Seine impressionnistes has eight stages:
-from Chatou-Croissy station to Sartrouville station (15 km)
-from Sartrouville station to Conflans-Fin d'Oise station (14.6 km)
-from Triel-sur-Seine station to Aubergenville-Elisabethville station (17.5 km)
-from Aubergenville-Elisabethville station to Mantes-la-Jolie station (18.2 km)
-from Mantes-la-Jolie station to Vétheuil station (22.4 km)
-from Vétheuil station to Bonnières-sur-Seine station (17 km)
-from Bonnières-sur-Seine station to Vernon-Giverny station (16.5 km)
With itineraries designed to be accessible from station to station, the GR de la Seine impressionniste is the perfect way to get out into nature with only your Navigo passport! But it's also a different way of visiting the Île-de-France region, taking the time to travel more gently and, above all, discovering the magnificent landscapes to be found in our region. The entire GR Pays de la Seine Impressionniste can be accessed via the free MaRando app, offered by the Fédération Française de Randonnée and available for iPhone or Android: alternatively, you can opt for the "old-fashioned" topoguides coming soon!
