La Française des Jeux has launched a new scratch card game: Mission Nature. The aim of this biodiversity lotto is to help theFrench Biodiversity Office protect nature, in the same way as the Loto du Patrimoine, which supports the preservation of monuments. Launched this Monday, October 23, 2023, the lottery involves 14 million tickets, which should raise nearly 6 million euros for the OFB, since 43 cents are paid per ticket.
For three euros per ticket, you can try to win up to 30,000 euros. Who will benefit from this biodiversity lottery? Around twenty winning projects, chosen by a selection committee including WWF, the French League for the Protection of Birds, as well as local authorities. Among the missions chosen: saving the wetlands of Mont-Saint-Michel, restoring the peat bogs of the Vosges, supporting the return of Europe's largest bird of prey, preserving turtles or helping biodiversity after the fire in the Monts d'Arrée.
ForSarah El Haïry, Secretary of State for Biodiversity, the aim of this lottery is to "raise awareness of the importance of preserving biodiversity", with a more accessible ticket than the Loto de Patrimoine. In the Île-de-France region, one site has been selected to benefit from this Mission Nature, for the creation of a square planted with trees and flowers in Vitry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne.
With the Loto de la #biodiversité, 20 projects will be supported. They will reflect the richness and diversity of France's natural heritage.
