Following in the footsteps of Yves Saint Laurent, Sonia Rykiel, Azzedine Alaïa and Pierre Cardin, the City of Paris, together with the LVMH Fashion Group, will unveil a commemorative plaque in tribute to Kenzo Takada. Find it at Galerie Vivienne, where this couture genius opened his first boutique in 1970, marking the beginning of a legendary creative epic.
Kenzo Takada has left a unique mark on the world of fashion. This plaque, unveiled by Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, will be a solemn tribute to an outstanding designer and decorator, an icon of Parisian and international fashion.
The pioneer of a generation of Japanese designers who arrived in France in the second half of the 20th century, Kenzo Takada's innovative creations blended cultures and genres. His fashion house, founded in 1970 and acquired by LVMH in 1993, continues to reflect his visionary spirit.
The Galerie Vivienne, a privileged witness to his beginnings, will be the emotional place where Paris remembers this artist. On this first day of Paris Fashion Week, remember KenzoTakada, who died in 2020 during the Covid-19 health crisis, and salute a legacy that transcends time.
