Usually less affected than other metro lines, line 1 will undergo modernization work this spring. RATP has announced the total closure of this famous automatic line, which runs between La Défense and Château de Vincennes, crossing some of the capital's most visited sites, including the Champs-Élysées, the Tuileries, the Louvre, Châtelet,Hôtel de Ville, Place de Bastille and Gare du Lyon.
In detail, this interruption to traffic on line 1 will last 7 hours, and will affect the entire line. In other words, all of line 1 will be closed to users during the modernization work. So, when is this total closure of line 1 scheduled? In a press release published on its official website, RATP announces the interruption of traffic on the entire metro line 1 this Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Due to this complete interruption of traffic, the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens is inviting passengers to transfer to connecting metro, bus, RER and tramway lines, such as RER line A, metro lines 14 and 8 or tramway T3b.
On the bus side, RATP recommends that users take buses 73, 72, 56 or 86. " The bus service on lines 56 and 73 will be reinforced for the duration of the traffic disruption," RATP adds.
We remind you that several other traffic disruptions have been announced this spring on public transport, such as line 14 and line 7.
