An unpleasant surprise for line 1 users this Friday, January 3, 2025. RATP announced a "incident affecting the tracks" at Châtelet. The consequence? Subway traffic is currently at a standstill between two stations located on this famous and very busy automatic line of the Paris metro.
In detail, traffic is interrupted this Friday on line 1, between Châtelet and Charles de Gaulle - Étoile stations, in both directions. Line 1 stations George V, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Champs-Élysées Clemenceau, Concorde, Tuileries, Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre and Louvre-Rivoli are currently inaccessible.
After an estimated resumption of traffic at 12:00, this was postponed. Traffic could finally resume at around 2:30pm, according to RATP. Stay tuned for further details.
Throughout this traffic disruption, line 1 users are invited to use alternative routes, such as RER A and RER C, or lines 2, 4 and 6 of the Paris metro. Passengers are also invited to contact RATP agents if necessary.
Traffic was already disrupted on line 1 this Friday morning, between La Défense and Porte Maillot stations, due to a broken-down metro.
