Line 14 of the Paris metro will undergo two additional closures in April and May, in addition to the traffic interruptions already scheduled for February, during the winter vacations. These total closures, scheduled from April 7 to 14, 2024 and from May 8 to 12, 2024, are necessary to carry out final tests before the opening of the line extension, which will soon link Orly airport to Saint-Denis. All stations will be affected.

To minimize inconvenience for users, RATP will provide alternative transport, such as special buses linking Gare de Lyon to Olympiades, with a frequency of 3 to 6 minutes during peak hours. Metro line 13 and RER B will also see their traffic reinforced.
According to Stéphane Garreau, director of the line 14 extension, these interruptions are intended to"test the new autopilot system in a real-life situation", as reported by franceinfo. Despite the temporary inconvenience, these tests are essential to ensure theopening of the seven new stations and 14 additional kilometers next June, just before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer. Network users are then encouraged to use alternative transport set up to minimize the impact on their journeys.
