With a record 2.84 million visitors this year, Parc Astérix has established itself as the country's second-busiest park, just behind Disneyland Paris. This success is partly attributable to the ambitious investments made by Compagnie des Alpes, which has earmarked 10 million euros in 2024 to enrich the visitor experience. New features include the Tour de Numérobis, spectacular flying chairs inaugurated by comedian Jamel Debbouze, and an original musical, C'est du Délire!
The park is not resting on its laurels. A vast transformation plan is underway, with renovations and new attractions planned until 2030. Next year sees the arrival of the Ketautomatix attraction, a ride that's sure to knock our socks off. With new attractions for every season, such as the arrival of the Obelix Slide for Christmas, which already featured a light-up ride last year, Parc Asterix has no end of surprises in store.
Les Quais de Lutèce, the park's iconic hotel, was once again voted best hotel experience in France, while the impressive Toutatis roller coaster retained its title as best coaster. Parc Astérix's particularly popular Halloween event also won awards for its immersive atmosphere.
Despite a season marked by a late summer and national challenges such as the Olympic Games and unexpected elections, the theme park sector remains buoyant. In the category for parks with fewer than one million visitors, Nigloland, located in the Aube region of France, won its third consecutive award. As for Futuroscope, its Aquascope water park, inaugurated this summer, won the prize for best water park.
To build on its success, Parc Astérix plans to open a fourth hotel in 2026, doubling its accommodation capacity. The new family attraction, centered on the character of Cetautomatix, will enchant us in summer 2025, offering an adventure aboard spinning chariots. But the new features won't stop there: we're promised even more shows and major changes to come, so stay tuned for further announcements.
Parc Astérix, rooted in the world of Goscinny and Uderzo's famous comic strip, continues to delight the hearts of Parisians and Ile-de-France residents, as well as tourists, who are growing in number every year.
