As the festive season approaches, Christmas markets are multiplying in Paris and elsewhere in the Île-de-France region. And when it comes to Christmas markets, there's something for everyone. There's the Alsatian Christmas market at Gare de l'Est for those who love local produce from the Grand Est region, as well as the iconic Notre-Dame Christmas market, the trendy Saint-Germain-des-Prés Christmas market and the La Villette Christmas market.
And of course, there's the Tuileries Christmas Market. On view until January 1, 2025, this Christmas market is the perfect opportunity to do some shopping and perhaps find that special gift to surprise your loved ones. But this event is also an opportunity to have fun thanks to the ice rink and the various rides. Since 2018, this Christmas market has been attracting large numbers of curious visitors and regulars, eager to share the magic of Christmas with friends and family.
As a result, many Parisians flock to the Jardin des Tuileries every year to enjoy the festive season to the full. For security reasons, RATP has announced that access to Tuileries station on metro line 1 will be closed for three consecutive weekends.
In detail, access to Tuileries station will be closed on weekends from 4pm to 11pm, until December 22, 2024. This is what RATP says on its website.
In 2023, RATP had no choice but to close access to Tuileries station on December 25, due to " exceptional crowds ". This year, therefore, the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens is anticipating any such rush by closing access to Tuileries station every weekend, from 4pm to 11pm, until December 22.
