Over the coming months and years, public transport in Paris and the Paris region will continue to be transformed and modernized, offering passengers even greater comfort and convenience. Initially scheduled for 2025, the opening of line 15 Sud, the first section of the new Grand Paris Express line, has been postponed until summer 2026. However, 2025 will bring a number of other new features to public transport in the Paris region. The arrival of Île-de-France's very first cable car, the entry into service of the Tzen 4 and the deployment of the new-generation metro on metro line 10... discover these three new features expected in 2025 in the Île-de-France public transport sector.
Scheduled for the Val-de-Marne region, Cable 1 will link the towns of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges and Créteil. A total of five stations will welcome passengers from the Paris region by 2025.
To give you an idea, thanks to Île-de-France's first cable car, it will be possible to link the Pointe-du-Lac metro line 8 station in Créteil with Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (a distance of 4.5 km) in just 18 minutes, all from the air. These 100%-accessible, 10-seat cabins will fly over no less than four towns in the Paris region: Créteil, Limeil-Brévannes, Valenton and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges.
Câble 1: Île-de-France's first aerial tramway expected by 2025

What is the Tzen 4? A 24-meter-long, 100% electric, bi-articulated bus. In 2025, it will replace line 402 over a 14-km stretch between " La Treille " in Viry-Châtillon and the Corbeil-Essonnes RER station, considered to be the " busiest section of the outer suburbs ". Advertised as " more comfortable ", Tzen 4 will seat 140 people, compared with 100 on the current line 402. Tzen 4 is also claimed to be " more efficient " and " more environmentally friendly ".
According to Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), 47,000 passengers are expected to use the Tzen 4 every day. It will pass through 5 communes (30 stations in all), serving strategic neighborhoods such as the Grande Borne district and the ZAC Centre-ville in Grigny, the Plateau and Canal districts in Évry-Courcouronnes, the Centre Hospitalier Sud Francilien and the ZAC de la Montagne des Glaises in Corbeil-Essonnes.
Finally, Île-de-France Mobilités has announced the arrival in 2025 of MF19, the famous new-generation metro, on metro line 10. This new-generation metro-rail system is designed to enhance passenger comfort (reversible air-conditioning, comfortable seats, natural lighting, USB ports and screens for real-time passenger information, etc.) and offer different waiting areas (short and long journeys, space reserved for people with reduced mobility).
