On Saturday December 28, 2024, Roxane Stojanov shone in the lead role of Pierre Lacotte's ballet Paquita. As tradition dictates, the Director of the Opéra national de Paris came up on stage to announce the news himself, in front of the audience who had attended the performance, and to award the dancer the Paris Opéra's highest distinction.
Since 2007, Roxane Stojanov has been a regular fixture at the Paris Opéra: first a student at the Ecole de Danse, she then joined the Corps de Ballet de l'Opéra de Paris, winning several awards and promotion to premier danseur in 2022. From Don Quichotte to Bayadère and Giselle, the almost 30-year-old dancer impresses with her technique and interpretation of each role.
If you'd like to see the Paris Opera's brand-new Danseuse Etoile perform on stage, it's possible, as Roxane Stojanov performs in Paquita (Opéra Bastille, until January 4, 2025), Sharon Eyal/Mats Ek (Palais Garnier, March 27 - April 18, 2025) andOnegin (Palais Garnier, February 8 - March 4, 2025).
