Nuit des Musées returns to Paris and the Île-de-France region this Saturday, May 17, 2025, for another edition of exceptional nocturnes. In Val-de-Grâce, the Musée du Service de Santé des Armées unveils its program for this 20th edition.

Calling all bargain hunters! Nuit des Musées is back for another edition on Saturday May 17, 2025. In Paris and throughout theÎle-de-France region, a fabulous program of exceptional nocturnes, free visits and unusual events awaits you in museums, monuments, châteaux and other cultural venues. An unmissable event that promises to be a great time to be had, with friends, family, as a couple or on your own.

This would be the perfect opportunity to discover the Musée du Service de Santé des Armées, nestled in the heart of Paris's Val-de-Grâce. This former 17th-century abbey became a military hospital, and today still houses the central library of the armed forces health service, the Val-de-Grâce school, as well as the museum. The museum houses a collection focusing on the creation and missions of the armed forces health service, uniforms, hygiene and prevention.

Located in Val-de-Grâce, the Musée du Service de Santé des Armées is dedicated to preserving, exhibiting and transmitting to the general public the history of the various components of military medicine. The museum offers you a tour punctuated by meeting points with lecturers along the way. Founded in 1916 in the historic buildings of the Royal Abbey of Val-de-Grâce, the museum presents the Armed Forces Medical Corps, distinguished by its adaptability, innovative spirit and the dedication of its personnel. Throughout the museum's tour, the essential mission of providing medical support to the armed forces, from the relief of combatants to follow-up care and rehabilitation, is presented through a wide variety of collections: surgical instruments, models, uniforms, paintings... Various conflicts are covered, from Napoleonic battles to contemporary overseas operations, providing an insight into the evolution of military medicine right up to the present day.
