  • Pixels Botaniques" exhibition - Saturday May 17, 2025 from 7pm to 11pmOnthe occasion of Museum Night, the Musée de la Seine-et-Marne opens its doors free of charge on Saturday May 17, 2025 from 7pm to 11pm. A great opportunity to discover the permanent collections and our two temporary exhibitions. The "Pixels Botaniques" exhibition by Miguel Chevalier plunges visitors into the heart of a reinvented nature, questioning nature in the age of the artificial. Following an approach initiated in the late 90s, based on the observation of the plant kingdom and its imaginary transposition into the digital universe, Miguel Chevalier is the creator of various herbariums and virtual gardens. Virtual plants are projected onto the walls of the exhibition room. An immersive experience thanks to a system of sensors that enable the plants to react to visitors' movements... Beyond their aesthetic qualities, these works question the stakes of genetic manipulation: no one can predict what will be produced by these flowers, which are free to crossbreed and reproduce ad infinitum... Pixels botaniques raises questions about the need to preserve biodiversity, at the risk of being reduced to a totally artificial nature.
  • Musical tale: Into the woods and troll night - Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 8pm
One day, sitting on my veranda, I saw someone at the edge of the woods. The first time, he passed so quickly that I thought I saw the shadow of a branch. The next day, he came back, and this time he stood still, staring at me. His eyes were silvery blue. Like the surface of water when there's sun and wind at the same time... "Into the woods" is a story about taming, trusting and losing oneself in the enchanted and unpredictable forest of love. The show combines literature, drawing and music inspired by Scandinavian landscapes and culture. The story is told in French, and the twelve songs are sung in English and French. Part 1: Smorgasbord: toast on the table and a return to singing workshops with the Boissy-le-Chatel music school choir. After the concert, a troll hunt in the Miguel Chevalier exhibition and in the museum garden by torchlight!
