Place de la Concorde is transformed into a gigantic Olympic stadium for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games! For the first time in the history of the Olympic Games, the Place de la Concorde in Paris is becoming a unique venue dedicated to urban sports. Indeed, from Saturday, July 27, 2024, the emblematic square will play host to the disciplines of skateboarding, 3x3 basketball, BMX freestyle and breakdance, to offer an unprecedented and festive spectacle in the center of Paris.
This innovative project is in line with Paris 2024 's desire to showcase the diversity and richness of urban sports, while offering a spectacular setting in the heart of the capital, just like other prestigious sites in Paris, such as the Grand Palais, theEsplanade des Invalides or the Champ-de-Mars, which will also host various in situ Olympic competitions.
A historic site transformed
The Place de la Concorde, situated in the majestic perspective from the Louvre Museum to theArc de Triomphe and the Grande Arche de la Défense, is transformed into the nerve center of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. A place steeped in history, this mythical square will be transformed to welcome thousands of spectators from all over the world. The urban sports competitions will benefit from exceptional visibility, enhanced by spectacular aerial views of the French capital, promising images worthy of the finest postcards of the "City of Light".
In addition to the competitions, the Place de la Concorde will also be an open, accessible urban park, celebrating urban cultures in all their forms. Strolling areas and grandstands will be set up to accommodate up to 37,000 spectators daily. The park will be designed as an open stage, enabling Parisians and tourists alike to discover and experiment with different urban disciplines. DJ sets, sports demonstrations, artistic performances, as well as athlete warm-ups and training sessions. Spectators with a ticket for an event or for the Urban Park can enjoy the festive atmosphere while immersing themselves in the spirit of the Games.

Paralympic Games in prospect
The Paralympic Games will follow closely on the heels of the Olympic Games, with an opening ceremony scheduled for August 28, 2024, on the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Élysées. This ceremony will be marked by a parade of 4,400 athletes from 184 delegations, celebrating the spirit of resilience and surpassing oneself. Some 65,000 spectators are expected to attend the event, including 35,000 in the paying stands and 30,000 from the lower section of the Champs-Élysées.
This edition of the Games, marked by innovation and openness, is also intended to be sustainable. After the Olympic Games, the temporary grandstands will be reused for the Paralympic Games, with a view to sustainability and efficient resource management. This innovative approach reflects Paris 2024's commitment to responsible, environmentally-friendly Games.

Ticket holders for the day's events can access the Parc Urbain before and after their event. Tickets for the Parc Urbain, at a single price of €24, allow a single entry with no possibility of return after exit. Up to 25,000 people can be present simultaneously.
