After two festive and sporting days in the capital, punctuated by a host of events, the Olympic flame continues its journey through the Île-de-France region just a few days before the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games. This Friday, July 19, 2024, it's off to Val-d'Oise. To the north of the capital, the Olympic flame is scheduled to criss-cross a dozen communes between Théméricourt and Soisy-sous-Montmorency. On the program? Passages through Pontoise, Cergy, Argenteuil, Auvers-sur-Oise, Sarcelles, Deuil-la-Barre, Enghien-les-Bains and Eaubonne.

A hand-picked group of torchbearers have been selected to carry the Olympic flame from one town to another in the Val-d'Oise region. Anonymous people and celebrities alike will have the immense honor and pride of carrying the Olympic flame on July 19. So, who are they? Who will be lucky enough to take several short strides through the Val-d'Oise, carrying the flame at arm's length?
The official website of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games has revealed the names of these famous torchbearers. This Friday, those planning to follow the Olympic flame in the 95 will have the chance to catch a glimpse of Camille Lacourt in the streets. The famous French swimmer, five-time world champion (2011 in the 100 m backstroke, 2013 in the 50 m backstroke and men's 4x100 m medley relay, 2015 and 2017 in the 50 m backstroke) is expected to be in Sarcelles.
Also in Sarcelles, French swimmer Stephan Caron, bronze medallist in the men's 100 m freestyle at the Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games.
In Deuil-la-Barre, French badminton federation president Yohan Penel, French fencer Maureen Nisima and former French international judoka Brigitte Deydier are announced.
