The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is the international event that makes the biggest impact on the world of sport, every four years! These Games will attract the world's attention and see the world's best nations compete in a hundred exceptional events. The Czech Republic, which came 18th in Tokyo, will be aiming to go one better this year, surpassing its best finish in Atlanta!
Since the break-up of Czechoslovakia in 1993, Czech athletes have continued to shine on the international stage. The Czech Republic took part in its first Olympic Games in 1994 alone, winning a total of 44 medals since then, most of them in canoeing, athletics and shooting sports. This 2024 edition is the first in which the name Czech Republic is applied!
At the Tokyo Games, the Czechs distinguished themselves with a total of 11 medals, just like the Danes! The Danes, however, won a bronze medal instead of a gold, putting the Czechs five places ahead. Gold came from their flagship disciplines, slalom canoeing and shooting, but also from judo and tennis! In silver, it was the same story, with a medal in javelin as well, and a bronze for fencing.
As for the Paralympics, the Czech Republic has won 122 medals in just five editions, including 8 in Tokyo. After all, the Czech Republic has only been taking part in the Summer Paralympic Games since 1996!
So, what are the results for the Czech Republic this year? Here's the medal table, updated daily.
