The Paris 2024 Olympic Games intend to makeOlympic history. In hosting this iconic sporting event for the first time in a century, France is aiming to break the mould. For the first time, the opening ceremony will take place in the heart of Paris rather than in a stadium, with a floating parade of foreign delegations up the Seine. The Olympic cauldron that flies up into the sky each evening unveils a fuel-free flame, the gold medals are set in an Eiffel Tower, Olympic events are held in the heart of historic sites... There's no doubt that the Paris 2024 Olympics will be remembered for a long time to come.

And just this edition, athletes have the opportunity to win the first Olympic medals in history in Kitefoil. This newly integrated Olympic sailing discipline will see its two finals contested this Thursday, August 8, 2024 in Marseille. In the women's event, Frenchwoman Lauriane Nolot, 25 and two-time world champion, took 2nd place on the podium, winning the silver medal after a neck-and-neck battle with Britain'sEleanor Aldridge (gold medallist) in the first heat, and despite a fall in the second heat at the end of which she finished in 2nd place!
