Are you tired of pins, clothes, mascots and other souvenirs? After the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, many towns and cities in the Ile-de-France region are planning to hold major flea markets where you can buy furniture and accessories for less! It's a great way to give these objects a second life, so they don't end up forgotten in a corner, at the back of a shed...
From the flags on the Olympic sites to furniture, volunteer hats and the rugby ball used by Antoine Dupont, the items to be recycled are likely to be many and varied, delighting collectors and those nostalgic for the Games. According to Ouest-France, nearly six million items of equipment will be recycled. Every weekend, a number of towns, including Paris, Colombes, Nanterre and Pantin, will be holding their own braderie, from September 14 to October 13, 2024.
Other Braderies des Jeux will be organized throughout France, to enable those who didn't experience the Games live to get a small piece of the event. As for the volleyball nets and referee chairs, they will be donated to sports clubs," Caroline Louis, Circular Economy Manager at Cojo, told France Info. According to her, some spectators have already started to appropriate pieces, taking away signs with the Olympic logo!
As for Seine-Saint-Denis, they've thought even bigger and are planning to get an Olympic pool and a skateboard module for their towns that need them!
