Competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has been raging for almost two weeks now, and Oriane Bertone today competed in the bouldering-difficulty climbing combined final at the Le Bourget venue. The Frenchwoman was disappointed to finish in 8th place, after a more than impressive performance!
Oriane Bertone let go of the hold (right hand zipping on the ruler) on level 3 and ended up with 45 points on the difficulty test, giving her a total of 104.5 points with the bouldering test earlier in the morning, propelling her into 8th place in the rankings.
As a reminder, the bouldering-diffcult climbing event is in two stages at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Oriane Bertone, born in 2005 in La Réunion, has rapidly become a rising star in the climbing world, particularly renowned for her bouldering exploits. She began climbing at the age of 8 and quickly climbed the ranks of the climbing world. By the age of 12, she had already managed some very high-level boulders, often reserved for experienced adult climbers. In 2018, she made her mark with several 8B-rated boulders, a rare achievement for a teenager. She holds several Bouldering World Cup titles and was Junior World Champion. Oriane Bertone was one of the climbing favorites at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the bouldering-difficulty combo, and missed out on the podium by finishing in 8th place. However, a promising career has been launched for young Oriane Bertone!
