L'Ecran Pop: Dirty Dancing, the cult film in cine-karaoke at the Grand Rex in 2024

Dirty Dancing returns to the Grand Rex in Paris on September 20, 2024. L'Écran Pop has already screened such films as Mamma Mia, Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, Grease and even Bohemian Rhapsody, which will be shown on September 28 and October 11.

Paris' famous cinema once again welcomes the L'Écran Pop concept. Created in 2016, by Natacha Campana, France's first karaoke cinema is a real success! The concept has already won over a good number of spectators by offering a variety of films. The entrepreneur really wanted to create a moment of decompression for everyone, and a new experience. The aim is to make you forget everything for one evening. Whether you're a fan of Dirty Dancing or just love karaoke, there's something for everyone. L'Écran Pop offers evenings with afestive atmosphere, and a chance to catch your favorite film on the big screen.

Since 2019, and after an enforced break due to the Covid, Dirty Dancing returns every year to the Grand Rex, to the delight of fans ofEmile Ardolino's film. But you'll have to be quick, because this year there's only one Dirty Dancing screening scheduled in Paris.

Released in 1987, the cult film didn't attract huge audiences in theaters, but became a cult through its television reruns. The film has been revived many times, notably for the famous choreography between Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, later repeated in L'Arnacoeur with Vanessa Paradis and Romain Duris.

As with every L'Écran pop session, the evening will begin with an introduction and a pre-show full of surprises. At the door, you'll be able to pick up a bag of goodies to use throughout the evening. The film will be shown in French, but the songs will be in VO with subtitles, so you can sing along.

The course of the evening:

• 8pm: doors open
• 8:30pm: introduction and start of show
• 9pm: screening of Dirty Dancing in VF karaoke
• 10:40pm: end of show
