Sortiraparis: We don't know much about the story of Avatar: The Way of the Water yet, nor about the newcomers. Can you tell us more about your characters?
Trinity Bliss: I play Tuktirey, but everyone calls her Tuk. She may be small, but she is very supportive.
Jack Champion: She has a big heart.
T.B.: Yeah! She's sweet, but she's a fighter. She'll do anything to protect her family and Pandora, who she loves more than anything.
J.C.: And I play Spider, a human. And he was born in Hell's Gate, but was orphaned when all the humans had to leave. And he grew up with the Na'vi people. He considers himself one of the Na'vi, obviously, even though he's human. I think he also sees himself as part of the Sully family, even though he's not totally accepted.
Trinity, what was your reaction when you first saw yourself as a Na'vi?
T.B .: I was blown away! The first time I saw Tuk was when we were shown sculptures of our characters. I thought she was absolutely beautiful. And then I saw her on the monitor between scenes. I always recognized her because she was the smallest one. I remember being really excited, I was full of adrenaline. We finally saw the movie a few days ago, it was so cool. I finally got to see my little Tuk in her final form.
Jack, we won't spoil the movie, but your character is very interesting. He's a human raised as a Na'vi, but he has some big dilemmas about where he came from.
J.C .: The humans are back and they don't seem to be going away anytime soon. I think that Spider doesn't like humans at all and that they represent a part of him that he hates. Because on Pandora, humans take and they take and they kill. And I think he has a lot of dilemmas and inner conflicts.
What was your favorite part of the shoot?
J.C .: For me, it was all the action scenes!
T.B .: I was going to say the exact same thing!
J.C .: Every time, it was something like: "so for this scene, there's an explosion and then you have to run and then save everyone..." you really have to like running! And then there's someone chasing you, it's so cool!
T.B. : And the action scenes were always emotionally and physically demanding and intense! Sometimes when we finished the take, we had to stay in one place to wait for the next take. It allowed us to hang out with each other a lot and have fun.
J.C. : It was really funny, because one minute we'd have a scene where we were about to die, and then the next minute we'd go back to school to do math.
