Created in 2016, Positive Cinema Week has established itself as a must-attend event at the Cannes Film Festival. Curated by Sam Bobino, this initiative celebrates engaged cinema that changes the way we look at the world. This year's guests of honor include Jacques Attali, Golshifteh Farahani, Samuel Le Bihan, Camille Étienne, Raí and Diane Kruger, under the patronage of Samuel Le Bihan, known not only for Le Pacte des loups but also for his ecological and social commitment, who perfectly embodies the values of the event.
The 9th Semaine du Cinéma Positif offers an eclectic selection of 32 films, ranging from fiction to documentaries, screened at various locations in Cannes, including outlying districts and the CNC beach. This free event, open to the public, aims to democratize access to cinema that conveys strong messages on essential themes such as sport, disability and theenvironment.
In addition to screenings, the Semaine offers round-table discussions, meetings with influential personalities, and awards ceremonies, including the Prix du Cinéma Positif and the Humann Prize. The themes chosen each year reflect a desire to showcase an inclusive and eco-responsible cinema.
The 9th Positive Cinema Week promises to be a highlight of the Cannes 2024 Festival, celebrating committed and inspiring cinema and offering a platform for artists and citizens to think and act together for a better world.
