Directed by Tim Story, Mise à l'épreuve(Ride Along in its original version) is an action-comedy driven by the dynamic duo of Kevin Hart and Ice Cube. Released in 2014, the film chronicles the misadventures of Ben, a high school security guard who dreams of winning the approval of James, his girlfriend's ultra-protective older brother. Freshly admitted to the Atlanta Police Academy, Ben thinks he can finally prove his worth by seeking James' blessing to marry his sister Angela. But to test his resolve, James takes him on an unpredictable day on the beat, leading them on a crime-fighting chase. Far from a routine ride-along, this day is a unique opportunity for Ben to demonstrate his courage... or to prove that he may not be up to the task.

Synopsis: Ben, a high school security guard, tries in vain to prove he's more than just a smooth-talking geek to James, his girlfriend's protective older brother and a tough-talking cop. When Ben is finally accepted into the APD (Atlanta Police Department) Academy, he asks James' blessing to marry Angela, thinking he's finally earned his respect. Skeptical, James puts him to the test to teach him the business and see whether or not he's worthy of marrying his sister. For 24 hours, he must patrol the streets of Atlanta with him. But what was supposed to be an ordinary patrol turns into a real pursuit of crime. James will find that Ben's quick-witted repartee is as dangerous as his own bullets.
