The time has come to award the prizes to the most powerful, moving, moving and stirring films of the Cannes Film Festival 2024. After the Queer Palm, the Palm Dog, the Semaine de la Critique and the Un Certain Regard selection, it's now the turn of the Quinzaine des Cinéastes - formerly the Directors' Fortnight - to unveil its prize-winning films.
As the Quinzaine des Cinéastes is not in itself competitive, the prizes are awarded by outside institutions - with the exception of the Carrosse d'Or, which since 2002 has paid tribute to a filmmaker for "the innovative qualities of his films, for his courage and intransigence in directing and producing".
This year, British filmmaker Andrea Arnold was awarded the Carrosse d'Or by the directors of the Société des Réalisateurs de Films.
