After twelve days of intense festivities, the Cannes Film Festival 2024 is already drawing to a close, and the awards are starting to roll in. This is particularly true of the Un Certain Regard selection, focused on auteur and discovery cinema, which this year included 18 films in competition.
For this 77th edition of the festival, the Un Certain Regard jury, chaired by Canadian director Xavier Dolan, included French-Senegalese screenwriter and director Maïmouna Doucouré, Moroccan director, screenwriter and producer Asmae El Moudir, German-Luxembourg actress Vicky Krieps, and American film critic, director and writer Todd McCarthy,
Together, they awarded 8 prizes on Friday May 24. 7 films were honored at the ceremony, and once again this year, the titles of the awards were chosen by the jury, each symbolizing a specific aspect of the winning films.
